MGS Accounting began more than 30 years ago when our founder Colin McCrone opened our first office in Temora, NSW followed by our second office in the neighbouring town of Young.

Today, the team provides expert accounting and taxation advice to our clients located throughout Australia.

A full-service practice, our clients come from a diverse range of industries including agriculture, retail, professional services hospitality and construction.

Duncan McCrone - Director

As a Director of MGS Accounting and a business owner himself, Duncan is passionate about helping small businesses thrive. He looks to put the best strategy in place for every client he works with.

From selecting the best structure for a start-up business, to identifying opportunities to improve operations and profits for established businesses, to succession and retirement planning in later years, Duncan is a trusted advisor to many.

In a complex taxation system like ours, Duncan’s extensive network of industry experts ensures his clients every financial and legal need is met. He looks to this network for advice in specialist areas of taxation and accounting or to provide clients with reliable referrals.

Duncan is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). He is a member of the FNTAA.

Darryn Smith - Director

Darryn is a Director of MGS Accounting and trusted advisor, particularly in the areas of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Estate Planning. He believes in helping clients do more than just meet their taxation obligations; always looking for every opportunity to put them in the best position possible to achieve financial security.

As the firm’s Company Secretarial Manager, Darryn is responsible for overseeing the corporate administration obligations for our clients with private company entities.

Darryn holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Charles Sturt University, is a fellow of the National Tax & Accountants Association, and has completed the RG146 training in Superannuation.

Rebecca Reid - XERO Specialist

Bec joined MGS Accounting in 2014 to provide business administration support. Today, she is the firm’s Xero specialist helping our clients operate their businesses using the very latest in cloud-based technology.

Bec guides our clients through software installation to operational efficiency and then provides ongoing support and assistance.

She looks for every opportunity to help clients streamline their operations to achieve optimal performance while meeting their compliance obligations. 

Bec holds a Xero Advisor Certificate.

Melissa Wells

With a strong background in Information Technology and Accounting Systems, Mel ensures we are using the most up-to-date technologies to best service our clients.

She provides business administration support to our Directors and clients using the very latest cloud-based accounting platform, Xero.

Mel holds Certificates II and III in Information Technology and Certificates Ii, III and IV in Business Administration.

 
 

Rebecca Lynch

As one of the firm’s receptionists, Bec is the first point of contact for our clients and skilled at quickly understanding and meeting their needs.

She brings to the team extensive experience in the agribusiness sector where she has developed strong administrative, quality assurance, health and safety and management skills.

These skills, combined with her customer service experience gained in the fitness and hospitality sectors, make Bec a valuable asset to our team.

Bec has a Certificate II in Business Administration.
